I grew up reading Harry Potter series. you can say I am a typical Potter Generation. It was so engaging to read the mystical world of JK Rowling. I would spend hours reading it. I remember the weather and ambiance of the room where I use to read it. Winter sunlight crashing in through the window and exploding in the little pink room with an exploring spirit. Rendering everything inside the room Magical.
Like a typical Potterhead, I waited for my Hogwarts letter (Still waiting). But this blog post is not about a jibe for not receiving the letter, yet. This post is not a question of loyalty towards the lifelong fandom (Which is my sworn responsibility).
Out of many things I gathered through the Potter- mania experience, here are a few I struggle/dwell over. In this rather polite "Jibe"
Identity:
I struggle with the house that the Pottermore's Sorting Hat has sorted me in. I am officially a Gryffindor. I even have a Gryffindor sweatshirt, that my sister bought me. But what I feel deep withing is a bit of a Ravenclaw. What I believe myself to be is a cusp of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.
I don't want to be the front runner or a whistleblower in a hypothetical fight between Good and Evil. I would rather be strategizing and doing the analytics of it from the headquarters.
But, then one can argue that Hogwarts Houses are a construct and not an absolute gospel of truth. Thus, I can be whatever I want. There is a fine line between the houses and in real prospects, the houses are a spectrum. If you get what I mean #LGBT.

Dementors Kiss:
A Dementor attempting a kiss is a punishment for Prisoners of Azkaban, in which his soul is being sucked. It represents depression by exposing the one being kissed to a feeling and experiences of past troubles and saddest days in their life. It is akin to a form of psychological torture.

This punishment is unethical, even Dumbledore is (apparently) terrified of the Kiss of a Dementor. In a wider way, it is the same old debate about the way one should or should not be punished for their crimes. However, My argument is that the intensity of punishment in this scenario is relative to the troubles that the criminal had. What I mean, is that the capacity of them being able to stand the punishment is not very in sync with the crime they committed. It rather depends on how much psychological strength they have. A punishment should be accorded with the crime and not the will power a criminal at Azkaban.
Evil:
Is Voldemort Evil in a black and white sense? Or is he a product of abuse and neglect?
Is Voldemort Evil in a black and white sense? Or is he a product of abuse and neglect?
I think Pure Evil is absolutely incoherent with consciousness. When I was younger, I often asked adults (Assuming that they know all the answers, talk about the naivety of childhood) Do the person doing bad things (like the villains) in films and books know that they are doing a bad thing?
I often got "Yes, they know it! " followed by " Think over when you did a bad thing didn't you know?" and I thought about wasting food, missing homework, etc and I knew during those conducts that I was doing a "bad" thing. But now, the domain of the question is extended. I do not believe that missing homework and not eating your vegetables is a fair comparison to the Evil.
I believe Voldemort is not the Pure Evil and most of all I believe Tom Riddle could have been prevented from becoming Voldemort.
"It takes a village to raise a child."
Apart from the above mentioned things. I, kinda, am irrationally worried about will I be able to produce a Patronus
The Patronus Charm is difficult, and many witches and wizards are unable to produce a full, corporeal Patronus, a guardian which generally takes the shape of the animal with whom they share the deepest affinity.
Will I be a good enough Witch to produce it? Well, I sometimes wonder what will be my Patronus! But, I am still trying to figure it out. It is a matter of time ... just until I am confident enough to presume working towards it will bring in satisfactory results. Ugh! The anticipation of failure is a Bitch.

I adore Harry Potter in all of it's forms, but it does have it's flaws. I'm still hoping Pottermore will allow us to see what our Patronus will be!

Agree, the so-called flaws are open to debate and that is the beauty of Series. I would love to know my Patronus. However, I think the way idea of patronus is so personalized... by adding it to pottermore may make it less of a customized trait.

You my dear have done us Potterheads proud by analyzing and jibing this so well. I think I should be in Ravenclaw as well 'cos I don't think my personality fits into the other houses! A fantastic piece you have done here!

Pick any line, any scene, between any 2 characters in any book and there you go, perfect recipe for a full fledged PhD thesis :D Love, love, love!
